Tekura was honoured with the Trade Sector Award for Africa for 2008. This awarded by the Africa Growth Institute in Cape Town in 2008.

We have also been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Integrated Rural Art and Industry, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

In recognition as one of the African design companies in the handicraft industry, Tekura was invited to be part of the 24 companies from Africa for the formation of Design Network Africa which is an initiation by the Danish Centre for Culture and Development to link producers of outstanding design from East, West and Southern Africa.


This was launched in September 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
